(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says as of 7:00 a.m. Monday morning, the official snow total for the St. Cloud area for this storm is 7.1″.
Other locally heavy amounts were recorded, including Waite Park measuring 8.6″, St. Augusta measuring 8.2″, southeast of Luxemburg at 8.2″, Princeton and Orrock east of Becker at 8.5″, and Zimmerman at 8.3″. Becker itself picked up 7.5″, as did an area northwest of Avon and Richmond. St. Stephen saw 7.4″, and Rice measured 7″.
Elsewhere, the official total for Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport was 8.2″ and the National Weather Service Chanhassen office got 8.5″.
More snow will fall before the system exits the area on Tuesday. Forecasters say another 2″ to 5″ is possible. The St. Cloud area is on the line between rain, freezing rain and all snow, so amounts will vary. Roads will be slick, so the Minnesota Department of Transportation updates the road information website as conditions change. Find that by clicking here.
