(KNSI) – St. Cloud reminds homeowners to be a good neighbor and clear snow from their section of sidewalk or face a fine.
City ordinance requires the sidewalk in front of properties to be shoveled within 24 hours of a snowfall event. Snow piles on sidewalks create a significant safety issue because they force people to walk on the road. Sidewalks must remain cleared the full width for pedestrians.
Contractors and property owners are reminded that snow from parking lots and driveways cannot be dumped on sidewalks. Instead, it should be piled in the yard and boulevard. Failing to comply could result in an administrative fine of $250 per incident.
