(KNSI) — The Easter Bunny is coming early for ice cream lovers.
Dairy Queen is bringing back Free Cone Day on the first day of spring, March 19th. On that Tuesday, participating DQ locations will offer customers a free small vanilla cone with no strings attached. A purchase is not required to qualify.
Executive Vice President of Marketing Maria Hokanson says, “Nothing says warmer weather is around the corner quite like Free Cone Day. We’re inviting fans everywhere to grab their friends and families and get their ‘Treat Szn’ started with something sweet – on us!”
There are even more goodies in store for mobile app users. DQ Rewards members are set to get double points for any food purchase on the 19th.
The St. Cloud area has three Dairy Queen sites, but only one has a kitchen. The “Red Barn” location on Highway 10 in southeast St. Cloud offers burgers, chili dogs, and more. To satisfy your sweet tooth, they have customizable ice cream cakes, Dilly Bars, sundaes, the peanut buster parfait, and the famous Blizzard treats.
The seasonal location in Sauk Rapids on North Benton Drive is serving customers again already. They typically open in late February as stipulated in their franchise agreement. That has been easier this year than most for the walk-up stand exposed to the elements. Temperatures are once again in the sixties to start the week.
There is also a seasonal treat only spot on 25th Avenue South in St. Cloud. It does not take online orders but serves up all the favorites.
Albany, Becker, Clearwater, Cold Spring, Melrose, Monticello, Sauk Centre, and Royalton are just some of the other cities in the region that also have DQs.
