(KNSI) –

Runners are hoping to bottle a little luck of the Irish this Saturday when they take to the streets for the Pot O’Gold 5K.

The event starts with the El-Jay Plumbing “Little Leprechauns” 1K for the youngest athletes. That’s scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Right after, at 8:45, the starting gun will sound for the Cetera Pot O’ Gold 5K and two-mile runners.

It’s the kick-off race for the Bernick’s Family Fitness Series, which is put on by the YMCA at cities throughout the area. This race is in Sartell. Each event starts and ends at Riverview Intermediate School off 7th Street North.

Take part by registering here. Thanks to a slate of sponsors, including 104.7 KCLD, it is only $5 per person. The rate is good until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 15th.

All 32 volunteering slots have already been filled. The weather will be sunny and above freezing but the wind will be gusting up to 40 miles per hour. It’s shaping up to be as smooth an experience as possible for mid-March.

The other races scheduled in 2024 are the Homegrown Festival and 5K in May, the Rock Your Sole Trail Run in Quarry Park in August, and the Wishbone 5K at Thanksgiving.
