(KNSI) – Laugh for a good cause April 19th at the St. Cloud Area SERTOMA Club Comedy Night fundraiser.
This year’s performer is Tommy Ryman, who was a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He has also been named the best act in the Midwest. Based out of Minneapolis, Ryman is no stranger to the show. SERTOMA Board Chair Lori Eich explains, “Maybe five years ago or so, he was our comedian for this event and was incredibly well-received.”
Tickets are $75 and going fast. KNSI Mornings host Bob Hughes will emcee the evening at the Park Event Center in Waite Park.
SERTOMA is a service group. Eich talks about the organization’s passion projects and what the proceeds will go towards.
“SERTOMA stands for service to mankind and that is our mission, is really to provide the quality of life for those who are impacted by hearing loss throughout the community and across the state of Minnesota.”
SERTOMA runs a hearing aid bank and organizes Camp Sertoma for the deaf each year. It also presents an annual scholarship to St. Cloud State University’s Communications Sciences and Disorders department. The group hosts weekly meetings and works with District 742 to celebrate American freedoms.
