(KNSI) – No people were hurt, but three pets were inside when a St. Stephen home went up in flames Friday.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says by the time its first deputy got to the home on 6th Avenue Southeast at 10:38 a.m., it was already fully engulfed. It was a rental property. Neither of the tenants was home when the incident happened, but their three dogs died in the blaze.
The home is considered a total loss. The St. Stephen, Rice, Sartell, and St. Joseph Fire Departments all responded to the scene to help get the flames under control. Mayo Ambulance also assisted.
