(KNSI) — A distribution center in St. Cloud wants to add another entrance and exit to its lot and will present its case to the St. Cloud Planning Commission on Tuesday.

Bluestem/Fingerhut, at 6250 Ridgewood Road, is looking to build an access road on the east end of the property. The Planned Unit Development request would allow a private road connecting the northern parking lot to 22 future loading docks directly east of Saukview Drive. The proposed paved connection will be 24 feet wide but cut through an environmentally sensitive area.

In 2023, an environmental and development team assessed the property and recommended a route with the least impact on the mature oak trees. Under the current proposal, any trees larger than six inches across that are cut down must be replaced with ones at least three inches in diameter.

According to Brennan Investment Group, which owns both brands, the businesses are thriving and need the added truck capacity to accommodate growth.

The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m.
