(KNSI) — The largest Easter Egg hunt in central Minnesota will hatch in Waite Park later this month.
The 104.7 KCLD Easter Egg Extravaganza will dump around 10,000 eggs at the Waite Park Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball fields at 10:00 a.m. on March 30th.
KCLD’s Kat reminds those taking their kids to not be late. “once we say at 10:00 a.m., sharp go, the eggs are gone. In just seconds they’re gone. So don’t be the parent, the grandparent, the Guardian that brings their kid at 10:01 a.m. because that is the most heartbreaking thing to see. Because the kids are like, Where are the eggs?”
Inside the eggs are candy and prizes. Some lucky youngsters will win bikes, a $500 Coborn’s gift card, Easter baskets, scooters and more.
The event is for children from zero to ten years old, and kids compete against others around the same age.
Kat explained over the last 18 years that she’s been involved, it’s become a family tradition. “Seeing the people that came when they were younger and now some of them are young parents, and that’s a trip. But just to see the generations that come out to grandmas and grandpas, who come out with their kids and their grandkids. And everybody is smiling.”
The Easter Bunny will also be on hand early for pictures with little tykes.
While the KCLD event boasts the most eggs in the area, there are plenty of other chances to gather the oval offerings.
North Crest Gymnastics in Sauk Rapids is holding an Easter Egg-Stravaganza Fundraiser on Sunday, March 10th. The cost is $10 and includes several activities.
The St. Cloud Area Family YMCA is holding an Easter egg swim. Kids will have a blast hunting for colorful eggs as they play and swim in the family pool. The swims are on March 19th, 20th, 23rd, 24th 26th, 27th, 29th and 30th.
St. Cloud Life Assembly of God is holding its Spring To Life egg hunt on March 30th. Egg hunts are separated by age group.
Kids Glow-In-The-Dark EGGstravaganza is also on March 30th at 4:00 p.m. There will be an Egg Hunt, games, and a gospel message for kids at Free Grace United Church.
