(KNSI) – A St. Cloud-based nonprofit is looking to hand out money to local organizations making a difference.
The Central Minnesota Community Foundation opened its Difference Maker grant round on Friday, March 1st. The goal is to fund initiatives that positively change mental health and racial equity in Central Minnesota. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)3 nonprofits, schools or governmental entities.
Since 2018, the Difference Maker grant round has handed out 27 awards totaling nearly $424,000.
At the same time, the ROCORI Area Community Foundation is opening up applications for Community Builder grants. The funds are for projects or initiatives that enhance the Rockford, Cold Spring and Richmond areas. These projects should be for new or expanded programs, capital improvements, and other investments that will have a lasting impact. The programs should focus on education, social services, arts and culture, and civics.
Grants range between $500 and $5,000.
Last year, the RACF Community Builder Fund awarded $20,000 in total.
The application deadline for both is April 30th.
