(KNSI) — Plans have been revealed for those who wish to either attend or watch the public memorial service for two police officers and a firefighter paramedic killed in the line of duty on February 18th.

The public memorial service is at Grace Church in Eden Prairie on February 28th at 11:00 a.m. The Department of Public Safety says they expect unprecedented interest in attendance, and priority seating will be given to family and first responders, per request of the family.

A livestream link has been launched here for people to watch at home. The livestream can be viewed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville. Doors there open at 9:30 a.m. The public can also line the procession route to show their respect. See the route by clicking here.

A release from the City of Burnsville says they have been “moved by the outpouring of support for officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge and firefighter Adam Finseth, their families and our public safety teams.”

Elmstrand, Finseth and Ruge were all gunned down while responding to a domestic incident at a home where the suspect told officers he was unarmed. He opened fire after three and a half hours of negotiations. Sgt. Adam Medlicott was also hurt but is recovering.

The man was not allowed to own or possess guns or ammunition due to a previous felony conviction. Where he got the guns and who bought them is still under investigation.
