(KNSI) – A kitty cat missing for more than a month in the St. Cloud area has been found safe.

Tom famously became known as the Lost Trucker Kitty when he bolted from his Arizona owner’s semi on January 17th. It happened around 2:00 a.m. at the Pilot/Flying J Truck Stop (McStop) off Clearwater Road and Interstate 94 in St. Cloud. They searched as long as they could for him without success.

A Facebook page was put together to help the owner find their traveling companion. Tom the Lost Trucker Kitty was reported to be found on Monday, February 26th, near Sauk Rapids. The little guy most likely used up a couple of his nine lives, considering he was found nearly nine miles away off County Road 4. Residents Tabatha and Jeremiah Moe discovered the missing cat.

According to a post, although dirty, dehydrated, and in need of shots, Tom is doing okay. He lost nearly half his body weight. He was taken to Rice Veterinary Clinic for care.

Tom will live with a trained rescue volunteer for the next few weeks to allow him some time to recover and be better prepared for long-distance travel.

His owners are coming from Arizona to get him when he is ready.
