(KNSI) — An official fundraiser has been launched to help the families of three fallen first responders.
The City of Burnsville says the outpouring of support and contributions for the families of Paul Elmstrand, Matthew Ruge, and Adam Finseth is “deeply appreciated.” Officials invited others who would like to offer support to direct monetary donations to Law Enforcement Labor Services.
Funds collected through LELS will be delivered directly to the families.
That website is the only authorized collection. Any others are a scam.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, scammers exploited the generosity of people wanting to help out by posting fake fundraisers. The families most likely wouldn’t see a dime of the money.
If someone wants to make a non-monetary contribution as a show of support, information can be found by clicking here.
Elmstrand, Finseth and Ruge were all gunned down at the scene of a domestic violence call for help early Sunday morning.
