(KNSI) — Sure, it’s February, but the Stearns County Parks Department is now accepting applications for seasonal positions.

Officials say if someone is looking for a summer job with flexible hours in the great outdoors, there are a number of spots.

There is an opening for a seasonal caretaker at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve. That person is responsible for informing visitors of park rules, cleaning park facilities, and monitoring park trails and grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring the park is safe by reporting and responding to emergencies.

The department also needs a crew leader. That position will oversee, lead, and participate in the activities of the seasonal caretaker employees.

A seasonal gatekeeper is also needed at Quarry Park. That person will greet visitors, sell parking permits, and provide information on park facilities and programs.

Maintenance aides work closely with maintenance staff in all the Stearns County parks. Some duties inclide a variety of landscaping, mowing, maintenance and cleaning park facilties.

Candidates must be 18 and older and be willing to work weekends and evenings.
