(KNSI) – St. Cloud is holding an open house on changes to its historic preservation rules.

For the first time since 2005, the city is revising its Historic Preservation Manual. Modifications include accounting for emerging technology and materials, plus new information and standards pertaining to renovating and maintaining historic buildings. The city took input from the community before tweaking the proposal.

St. Cloud’s historic neighborhoods include the area around Barden Park near St. Cloud State University, the downtown commercial district, the Southside Neighborhood north of the campus, the Pantown Neighborhood and the Southeast Historic District.

The open house is Tuesday, February 27th, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at city hall in the council chambers.

It will be the last time to review the manual and provide feedback before it is finalized. See if you live in one of these historic districts by clicking here.
