(KNSI) — One person was hurt, but three children walked away unscathed from a head on accident south of Freeport Wednesday afternoon.

At about 3:10, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office got a 911 call about a crash with injuries at an intersection in Oak Township. They arrived to find a Ford Taurus and a Dodge Caravan, both with significant front-end damage. The 72-year-old driver of the sedan was taken to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The 35-year-old driver of the van said she was going north on County Road 11 toward Freeport when she started to slide into the southbound lane, crossing the center divider and crashing into the Taurus.

Neither she nor her three passengers, ages three, two, and one, were hurt.

Crash investigators say they believe the snow and slippery road conditions were a contributing factor.
