(KNSI) – Two men living in Benton County are accused of getting drugs mailed to them and selling them in the area.
Investigators say they received information from Minneapolis Airport Police earlier this month about a package going to a home in Rice that contained multiple pounds of methamphetamine. A detective disguised himself as a UPS delivery driver and brought the package to the 1400 block of 115th Street Northwest. About ten minutes later, the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force executed a knock and announce search warrant.
Police say they raided the home and found more than three pounds of meth. They arrested 33-year-old Pedro Ramirez Corrales (left) and 23-year-old Jorge Corrales Aragon. According to the criminal complaint, investigators also seized numerous cell phones and receipts for money orders showing cash being sent to Mexico.
Court records state Corrales Argon admitted he knew the package would contain meth, and it was coming from Sinaloa, Mexico. Corrales allegedly told police he was a drug user. He said he owed someone in Mexico money and hoped this would take care of it.
Both men have been charged with first-degree drug possession and first-degree drug sale. They are each being held on $50,000 bail.
