(KNSI) – The City of Sartell chose RE/MAX Results to market the other commercial property associated with the Verso Paper Mill.
The first site that comes to mind is the new Mill District on the east bank of the Mississippi River. Administrator Anna Gruber says the Champion plat is located several blocks away and will be marketed to industrial tenants.
“That paper mill has always had associated with it 167 acres on Fourth Avenue that they used as a landfill for their paper ash.”
RE/MAX Results will put roughly 106 acres up for sale. The landfill is still considered active and Sartell has plans to keep it open, even with its proximity to new businesses that might relocate to the area.
Gruber says the city is also still working on the Mill District site. More will be known about it in about two months.
“In reference to the mill site, which is also kind of happening in tandem with this…that site, we will have a presentation from our redevelopment study consultant, Anita Archambeau. She’ll come in April and present the final study.”
Gruber says the city may market the Mill District differently than the Champion plat. It could use a commercial real estate broker, or staff may place a more active part in a potential deal.
