(KNSI) — St. Cloud State University is adding to its cannabis program offerings with a new certificate for cannabis product development and design.

The offering is a joint effort between California-based cannabis education company Green Flower and SCSU. The course will introduce students to cannabis, its history, culture and industry. They will also learn botany and business practices, agriculture and cultivation, law and policy, Food and Drug Administration regulations and challenges potential businesses can face, medicine and healthcare.

The creation and formulation of cannabis products will be studied by looking at chocolates, gummies, edibles, tinctures, topicals, product safety, packaging, and labeling.

Classes start March 4th, 2024. Learn more by clicking here.

In August, SCSU became the first school in Minnesota to offer a certificate-based cannabis education program and partnered with Green Flower to deliver the curriculum.
