(KNSI) — The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development announced nearly $13.6 million in Pathways to Prosperity workforce grants, and one local company is getting a piece of the pie.
Career Solutions, formerly known as Stearns Benton Employment & Training, has landed $300,000 in Bridges to Career Pathways funding. The Bridge to Career Pathways programs target those who are looking to sharpen their skills or learn new ones to earn an industry recognized credential in an industry that is identified as in demand within their region. Providers partner with an active employer and active Adult Basic Education providers or demonstrate a strong connection to ABE. People who take part may enter employment in an in-demand career pathway from one level or continue on to a higher level or post-secondary education.
Career Solutions is an employment and training organization that, through career counseling, job training, and business relationships, has helped workers of all experience levels and ages train for and gain meaningful, self-sustaining employment.
“Helping Minnesotans get onto a career pathway benefits workers, businesses and families, which is why DEED is proud to partner with these Pathways to Prosperity grantees,” said DEED Commissioner Matt Varilek. “By investing in the success of Minnesotans, especially those who face systemic barriers to employment, we’re helping build sustainable economic growth for everyone in our state.”
