(KNSI) – Area golf courses are open in late January, and yes, you read that correctly.

Officials at Pine Ridge in Sartell tell KNSI News that this isn’t the first time ever, although it is extremely uncommon. Workers there say avid players were able to get their clubs out 15 years ago at about this same time for a round.

The course says it expects to be able to remain open until the weekend, so at least four or five days. Nine holes cost $15, and you can do a second tour through for a traditional 18-hole outing for only $23. Credit cards are not accepted, it’s cash or check only.

Pine Ridge will open at 10:00 a.m., with the final group going out in the three p.m. hour due to the shorter days. Angushire in Waite Park says on its Facebook page it plans to let you tee off Wednesday and Thursday this week, but carts will not be available.
