(KNSI) – A champion has been crowned in the first-ever Sauk Rapids-Rice DECA Burger Challenge.
Customers at Molitor’s Quarry Grill & Bar have been sampling the tasty choices over the last couple of weeks and have helped whittle down the competition from eight down to the last burgers standing. The Egg-Cellent Maple Burger took home the gold with its breakfast-inspired combination of a maple syrup-coated patty with a cinnamon egg-wash bun, topped with American cheese, bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns.
It edged out the Nacho-Licious Beefy Burger based on its sales and social media response. The Egg-Cellent burger is available throughout the weekend at Molitor’s and will be added to the menu for the next year.
The burger bracket challenge was also a fundraiser for Tanner’s Team Foundation. Part of the proceeds from the burger sales in the bracket will support the nonprofit, and a slice of sales from the winner will also go to the foundation at the end of 2024. The organization helps families dealing with childhood cancer.
