(KNSI) — The Metropolitan Ballet is celebrating 25 years with a special performance at the Paramount Center for the Arts.

Metropolitan Ballet works to unite dance, music and theater. Its founder and Artistic Director, Erik J. Sanborn, will stage Giselle on March 16th and 17th.

Called one of the most sacred and romantic ballets of all time, Giselle tells the story of a heartbroken young peasant girl who learns her one true love is a prince set to marry another. It originally premiered in 1841. Written by Colalli & Perrot, the performance will be filled with passion, as it tells a story that transcends life and death.

It will be set to its original score.

Sanborn says he is staging this performance as a deep expression of gratitude to the community of artists and patrons for their support over the 25 years.

Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. on both nights. Tickets start at $24 for adults and $19 for kids.
