(KNSI) — The Bernick Family Foundation has partnered with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation to give out $200,000 in grant funding.

All money will go toward youth, education, fitness, and well-being programs, primarily in greater Minnesota.

Eligible organizations were required to be a 501(c)3 organization, school or governmental entity and serve one of the seven regions that Bernick’s services. Jason Bernick, Bernick’s Director of Corporate Affairs, stated, “This year’s grant recipients will truly have an impact on communities that we share a stake in, and we are proud to be a part of helping make these programs and projects possible. Bernick’s is honored to uphold our family tradition of serving Customers and Community since 1916.”

Locally, $15,000 was awarded to the Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, Inc. for its amphitheater project.

Tailor Doeden, Director of Community Engagement for the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, says, “We are grateful to be in partnership with the Bernick Family Foundation. Their philanthropic efforts within these 7 regions are impacting communities today and well into the future.”
