(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says it has gotten numerous reports of slick roads and sidewalks Wednesday morning due to areas of freezing drizzle and freezing fog leading to the development of icy conditions.
Areas of freezing drizzle will continue through at least midmorning. Forecasters say to expect slippery spots on untreated surfaces while temps remain at or below freezing. Black ice can sneak up on a driver or pedestrian as it can form on any road or surface, but also along curbs and drainage areas due to melting snow. It’s most prevalent at night, but still hangs around in the daylight hours.
Visibilities could be reduced to less than a mile at times this morning, but fog should slowly improve this afternoon.
If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
