(KNSI) – A growing number of Minnesotans rang in the holiday season in handcuffs.

Troopers, deputies and police officers from 279 agencies arrested 2,432 impaired drivers between November 22nd and New Year’s Eve. That’s 204 more than the 2,228 DWI arrests made during last 2022’s holiday campaign.

One of the top enforcers was the Minnesota State Patrol Office in St. Cloud busting 45 drivers. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office followed at 42 arrests. Other Departments are listed below.

One driver pulled over in Sherburne County had a blood alcohol reading of .34, more than four times the legal limit of .08.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety coordinates the extra enforcement and awareness campaign with funding provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
