(KNSI) – We’ve nearly put a bow on area Christmas tree collections as the holiday season comes to a close.

Sauk Rapids will accept your formerly festive fir or spruce on Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Employees will brave the cold to take your pine tree in, with the cost being a simple non-perishable food donation.

The offer is open to both residents and those who live outside the city limits. The site is located at 3215 Quarry Road Northeast.

The St. Cloud Public Works Department has one final pickup day on Monday, January 22nd. Trees with a stand, decorations, or lights attached will not be taken. A yard or garbage bag must be tied around one of the branches or the trunk and easily visible.

All trees should be brought to the curb by 6:00 a.m. that day before trucks begin making their rounds.
