(KNSI) – The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested a man for driving while under the influence of methamphetamine.

At 12:24 p.m. on Thursday, a deputy noticed a vehicle outside the fog line while heading north on Highway 10. He began a traffic stop near Royalton. A press release says the deputy found cause to search the vehicle and located a hypodermic needle and about 14 grams of methamphetamine.

There were no passengers, only the driver, 49-year-old Dominic Lafriniere of Mahnomen. He is currently on parole for 1st-degree possession of methamphetamine and has been taken to the Morrison County Jail.

Sheriff Shawn Larsen praised the deputy for his work and says illegal narcotics are a priority for his office.
