(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University’s teacher education degrees make the grade.

The Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation has granted the programs a full seven-year accreditation after reviewing them along four standards. The AAQEP is not a regulator but focuses on assuring high-caliber instruction to prepare the next generation of educators.

Interim Dean King Banaian says, “The work our faculty and staff put into AAQEP accreditation demonstrates SCSU’s commitment to preparing educators to lead change.”

AAQEP President and CEO Mark LaCelle-Peterson congratulated the school, saying, “The University ensures the quality of teacher preparation through its attentiveness to evidence of program effectiveness and responsiveness to clinical partners’ needs.”

Teaching courses have been offered at the school for over 150 years.
