(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Crush Dance Team is stepping up to comfort young victims going through a traumatic event.
The squad is made up of girls from both Apollo and Tech High School. The group made tie blankets for the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center. In a Facebook post, the team says, “We are so blessed to have this facility in our community to serve children, teens, and vulnerable adults who have suffered trauma or abuse.”
The Child Advocacy Center provides aid to children who have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse. The group brings together a multidisciplinary team, including prosecutors, law enforcement, and mental health experts, to create a one-stop approach so children only need to tell their story once. This allows them to avoid reliving the trauma every time they need to talk with a different agency.
Team captains delivered the warm, beautiful fleece blankets right before Christmas. The CentraCare Foundation wanted to start the New Year off by thanking the girls for dancing their way into everyone’s hearts with this kind gesture.
