(KNSI) – A Watkins man died Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident in Maine Prairie Township.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 4:00 when a Honda Accord driven by a 17-year-old was headed east on Powder Ridge Road and collided with a Nissan Murano driven by a 41-year-old Kimball woman that was going south at the intersection with Highway 15. A third vehicle, a Dodge Avenger, driven by 80-year-old Elton Keith Hatcher hit the Honda. The state patrol says Hatcher was not wearing a seatbelt and he died at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was not hurt, but his passenger, a 16-year-old girl from St. Michael, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Murano also had non-life-threatening injuries.
