Sartell Elementary Student’s Holiday Card Design Shines Bright at Granite City Tire & Auto

(KNSI) – Sartell elementary art students got support from a local mechanic after designing the shop’s holiday card.

For the second year, Granite City Tire & Auto teamed up with first and second-graders at Pine Meadow Primary School, and on Monday, the students learned whose artwork was picked for the card. General Manager Jesse Nelson had the difficult task of selecting a winner because he said there was so much good work. He selected a drawing by a young girl named Teddy. “She designed a snowman, some Christmas trees and a little girl standing out in the snow playing outside. And that was her holiday theme. I really liked the artwork she had put into it.”

Her winning design will go out on 1,000 cards. Nelson says he loves using a child’s creativity to wish others a merry Christmas. “It’s just a thank you to our customers in a happy holidays card. And I like using the kid’s imagination with what it means to them on the holiday season.”

Granite City Tire & Auto donated $1,100 to the school’s art program for supplies and books. This is the second year the two have partnered on the holiday card project.
