(KNSI) – St. Cloud-based Anderson Trucking Service has doled out $1 million to workers’ families through its charitable wing.

The Anderson Assistance Foundation helps drivers, independent contractors, warehouse staff, and office workers overcome adversity. Staff is encouraged to apply if facing damage from a natural disaster, emergency medical treatments not covered by insurance, and unexpected funeral expenses. Other issues can be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

More than 400 families in the U.S. and Canada have received help. Assistance is limited to $5,000 per occurrence. Jim and Rollie Anderson started the charitable organization in 2019 in memory of their father, Harold Anderson.

Freight moving businesses under the company’s umbrella include Anderson Trucking Service, Sureway Transportation, Warren Transport, SunBelt Furniture Xpress, Prestera Trucking, and Momentum Truck Group.
