(KNSI) – A police officer was assaulted while trying to arrest a woman for allegedly attacking a man she believed had pornography on his phone.
Police were called around 10:45 on Friday night to a home in Paynesville for a domestic assault. When officers arrived, they found a man outside in a sweatshirt, shorts, and no shoes. He stated that 28-year-old Danielle Darlane Storkamp had come at him with a knife, hit him, and pushed him multiple times. He also said Storkamp had threatened to harm three children in the home when she stated, “We’re all going to die” and “We’re all gonna be dead.”
The victim showed the police cell phone video of Storkamp allegedly coming after him with a “hammer stapler.” Officers went to the front door, but Storkamp refused to come outside or let officers inside to check on the children. Police say Storkamp called the victim on the phone and stated, “You’re going to have to pry her out of my hands,” and “I’m taking the girls and going upstairs.”
Officers kicked in the door and followed Storkamp, who ran, picked up a child, and headed upstairs. She was eventually separated from the kid on the second level, and the police tried to arrest her.
According to the criminal complaint, Storkamp asked if she was getting resisting charges and then dropped her body weight to the floor. Storkamp allegedly spit on a female officer’s face. Storkamp is then accused of wrapping her legs around the officer and attempting to head-butt her.
Law enforcement determined that Storkamp was too combative to get down the stairs and tried to use a body wrap. Police say then kicked the officer in the face three times. She also kicked the officer in the chest, neck, and jaw.
A spit hood, helmet, and stair chair were used to get Storkamp down the stairs and out of the residence to an ambulance for a medical evaluation. She was taken to the Stearns County Jail. Storkamp is charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a weapon, threats of violence, two counts of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer, and domestic assault.
She is being held on $90,000 bail.
The officer suffered bruising and swelling at the bridge of her nose and on the left side of her jaw, pain when chewing, pain when turning her head, soreness in her arm, and other issues due to the assault.
