(KNSI) — Thursday’s beautiful weather set a record for St. Cloud.
The National Weather Service’s official observation says the mercury hit 53 at 3:00 p.m., tying the old record set in 1939. The normal temperature for our area on December 7th is 29. The average is 39.
Friday, things start to change.
A surface low is hanging out over northwestern Minnesota, with a trailing cold front set to move through. Temps will start above normal highs for the day, lifting well above normal into the 40s before the front hits. Northwest winds will pick up through the day, and that cold front will also bring cloud cover.
A chance for snow showers is in the forecast for the overnight hours into Saturday, but significant travel impacts are not expected.
Mild, dry weather looks to be the name of the game next week, with no significant snow and another possible run in the 40s by Thursday.
