(KNSI) – The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says a man died due to a workplace accident at a firewood processing facility near Little Falls on Wednesday.

The incident happened at 10:28 a.m. at the business off 233rd Street in Fort Ripley Township. The man was found by coworkers trapped inside a machine. Deputies and first responders immediately began life-saving measures once they reached the scene, but they could not revive 39-year-old Hector Gonzalez Zelaya.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance and North Air Care also assisted. Sheriff Shawn Larsen says in a press release he has nothing but heartfelt gratitude towards everyone who tried to revive Zelaya. He says their commitment and dedication are appreciated and extended thoughts and prayers to Zelaya’s family.

He lived in Little Falls.
