(KNSI) – The Lake Wobegon Trail is getting a trim in western Stearns County.
Crews will be out cutting back trees and other plants between Sauk Centre and the border with Todd County. The trail will remain open while the work is ongoing, but the Parks Department says heavy equipment will be in use and warns people to be cautious as they pass by.
No expected completion date was given. The area received about an inch of snow overnight, which may cause a slow start to the job. The trail is paved and a popular choice for snowmobilers. There is not yet enough powder for winter recreation yet, though.
In the fall, it is used by bicyclists, rollerbladers, runners, and walkers.
