(KNSI) – Halberstadt’s Men’s Clothiers has been a staple in St. Cloud since 1975, and while it has expanded to other parts of the Midwest, it has never added another Minnesota location until now.

President Jeff Halberstadt says the new Edina store will feature the J.H. and Sons concept. “We wanted to start something that was a little younger. The JH concept morphed into a more luxury Italian branded concept that is a little higher price point than what we do in the other stores.”

It will be located at The Galleria. Halberstadt’s started with James, the grandfather. It was passed on to Jeff. Jaime, the third generation, became involved in 2014. That is when the company unveiled its J.H. and Sons idea.

Jeff says they continue to evolve with fashion trends, especially at the office. “The casual business has also been very good. It’s more elevated. A lot of guys, if they’re not wearing a suit and sport coat to work, they still want to be the best-dressed guy in the room, so we carry an extensive casual lineup.”

The main sales driver is events, such as weddings and other formal gatherings. Halberstadt’s also operates stores in Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Jeff says the Edina store will have a beautiful story to tell. He chose The Galleria because he believes the mall has become a place to shop for everyone in the Twin Cities metro, attracting people who once did most of their buying at stores in downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul.
