(KNSI) – A local doctor has been recognized as one of the best in his field.
The Minnesota Chapter of the American College of Physicians recently presented the 2023 Hospitalist of the Year award to Dr. Eric McFarling, a hospitalist in the CentraCare Health System in St. Cloud. A hospitalist is a doctor whose primary focus is the general care of hospitalized patients. He is one of 50 in the local healthcare system.
McFarling helped start the hospitalist program in 2001 and continues recruiting physicians for CentraCare.
The American College of Physicians has over 164,000 members, including internal medicine physicians, hospitalists, subspecialists, and medical trainees. The honor goes to a member consistently recognized for state or national achievements in in-patient medical care.
