(KNSI) – Wet your whistle on Black Friday to celebrate craft beer makers during Minnesota Pint Day.

The annual event has grown from 40 breweries to 55 breweries in the past year. Bob Galligan, with the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, says many neighborhood producers are small business owners who need your support. “The whole point is to celebrate the culture of craft beer in the state. And to really amplify and make sure people are celebrating their local craft producer, whether it’s the local artists down the street or their local craft brewer. That’s what Black Friday is about in our mind.”

Galligan explained every tap room would sell a special pint glass for $10 to remember the occasion. This year’s theme is good old H20. “Water is central to the Minnesota spirit, but also to the brewing spirit. So, the glass celebrates water all across the state.”

Some local companies taking part include Bad Habit Brewing Company in St. Joesph, Back Shed Brewing in Waite Park, and Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake.
