Benton County Authorities Seek Leads on Perpetrator of Illegal Roadside Tire Disposal

(KNSI) – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person who is illegally dumping tires on the side of the road.

Twice in the last month, someone has dumped dozens of tires near the Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud city limits. On October 20th, 25 tires were found along Townhall Road Northeast just north of the intersection with Golden Spike Road Northeast. On November 15th, about 25 more tires were found strewn along 14th Avenue Northeast near the intersection with Mayhew Lake Road Northeast.

Police have a picture of a suspicious 2003 to 2007 Chevy Silverado loaded with used tires. The truck has an extended cab and a yellow sticker in the rear window.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at 320-968-7201 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 800-255-1301.
