(KNSI) – Fifteen decorators turned this year’s Zonta Christmas House into a winter wonderland in just a matter of hours on Thursday.
Chair Debra Kellerman says they were able to get a sneak peek a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn’t until the night before the home is open to the public that the ornaments went up.
“We let them into the house Thursday night from 4:00 to about 7:00. Most of them had it done by then, but we also open it Friday morning for any fine tuning or extra little things that they want to do. They all have to be done by noon on Friday.”
Kellerman says last year’s crowds for the first post-COVID house tour were down a bit from what they used to draw pre-pandemic. She expects at least a thousand people to tour the home between Friday and Saturday. The home this year is at 22807 Rausch Lake Road. Tickets are $20. It is the Zonta Club of St. Cloud’s largest fundraiser of the year.
The proceeds help the organization further its mission to aid women. Kellerman says, “The majority of the money goes to Anna Marie’s [Alliance]. We also fund Terebinth Refuge, which is for human trafficking victims. We also fund Crisis Nursery.”
You can buy tickets at the door if you haven’t purchased them already. The home is open to the public Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
