(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Planning Commission has given the go-ahead to build a three-story apartment building on the city’s northwest side.
Officials say the 48-unit complex near the roundabout on County Road 4 and County Road 120 will have a mix of retail space on the first level with residential space above. The apartment is an extension of another development in the area and consistent with planning for the zone, unlike a mechanic shop rejected earlier this year.
Community Services Director Matt Glaesman explained to KNSI News they said no to that request because it “wasn’t on the list of [approved] uses. So that’s really the difference between what was denied and what’s now before us. This was always the intention for the property.”
Glaesman told us what’s next for the proposal. “The council will take this up to set the hearing at their next meeting, next Monday on the 20th. And then they would have the public hearing itself, at the first meeting in December.”
The city council will have the final say then.
