(KNSI) – A prime piece of real estate in St. Cloud could be turned into a bank and retail space.
The St. Cloud Planning Commission will discuss a plan from OneCorpGlobal, which wants to turn the former school district media services site into a 4,500-square-foot bank and construct two retail buildings. The Floridia-based commercial real estate company says one would be 4,500 square feet with a drive-thru for a fast food restaurant, and the other would be 4,000 square feet designated as retail. The three buildings would be located just north of city hall off Highway 23.
St. Cloud bought the land from St. Cloud Area School District 742 in March 2021. The council rezoned the property from single and two-family residential to a Planned Unit Development and authorized its sale in March 2022. The former media services building was demolished in the fall of 2023.
The planning commission will also hear about a request from Torborg Builders to buy a piece of property from Kwik Trip near County Road 4 and County Road 120. The planned unit development will allow a three-story mixed-use building with 4,200 square feet of commercial storefronts and apartments. The plan calls for eight studios and 20 one and two-bedroom units.
A public hearing on the proposals will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
