Class AAA Quarterfinals

Annandale 14, Esko 7: A battle of the unbeatens known for putting up points turned into a war of attrition in the wind in Brainerd. Esko capitalized on its first possession, courtesy of a 32-yard pass that finished off a quick, three-play drive. They never scored again. Esko fumbled inside Annandale’s 30 the next time they had the ball and then threw an interception early in the second quarter at the four-yard-line as it switched sides and had to go against a stiff gale. After that, Esko didn’t really threaten offensively. The Cardinals went nothing but backwards early but took advantage with the wind at their back in the second quarter. From his own four-yard line, quarterback Nick Walter found Brandon Cooper for 76 yards. On fourth and goal, Walter ran the option, pitching it to Brandon Valdez who found the endzone. The score stayed knotted at seven until early in the fourth. Running back Connor Lampi punched it in from two yards out and then was the feature back on a long drive that ran out the clock as the Annandale ground attack took over.

Friday, November 10th

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 33, Albany 6: The Huskies finally got on the board in the fourth quarter. Andrew Olson connected with Hunter Hamann from 15 yards out. DGF had five different players score a rushing touchdown.
