(KNSI) – A complaint about a reckless driver turned into an arrest after a truck was found crashed in a cornfield on Thursday afternoon. At about 1:00, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a pickup truck driving erratically on Highway 15 near County Road 147 by Carnelian Lake in Main Prairie Township.
Witnesses said the pickup had hit a mailbox and was driving in and out of the ditch. Deputies found a 2013 Ram 1500 truck that crashed on County Road 147 about a mile from where the complaint originated.
Investigators say the driver hit an approach and a tree before he crashed into the field itself. He was not hurt. The 36-year-old from Kimball was arrested on suspicion of 3rd-degree DWI. Test results are pending, and the investigation continues.
KNSI News has a policy of not identifying suspects until they are formally charged.
