Winter Parking Restrictions Start November 1st

(KNSI) — Winter parking restrictions are in place in St. Cloud and surrounding communities starting today.

St. Cloud has three different regulations. Parking is based on odd/even days in the city’s core neighborhoods. Between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on odd-numbered days, drivers should park on the even side of the street. On even-numbered days, drivers must park on the odd side of the street.

In parts of the city north and west of the Sauk River, west of the Mississippi River and 22nd Street South, west of Highway 15, north and east of Highway 10, and areas east of the Mississippi River and south of Minnesota Bulvard/Highway 301 are under a seasonal parking ban. That means parking isn’t allowed on any public street between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. If the street is paved and is less than 32 feet wide, there is no parking at any time.

Around St. Cloud State University, signs on each street tell you if you can park between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Some streets have no parking on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while other roads ban leaving your car overnight on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Sartell’s restrictions call for no parking on any street or alleyway from November through March between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Vehicles may be ticketed and towed.

In Sauk Rapids, St. Joseph and Waite Park, there is no parking on the street between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. during the winter. In St. Augusta, there is no parking on the street between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

The seasonal restrictions remain in effect until March 31st, regardless of snowfall. Violators will be given a ticket and, in the event of a snow emergency, will be towed.
