Sports Wrap: ROCORI, Albany Still Alive in Volleyball Sectionals

8AAAA Semifinal

(7) Bemidji 3, (3) Sartell 0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-22): The Sabres’ season comes to an end after being on the wrong end of a hard-fought match. Senior Abby Haus’ career ended on a high note. She lit up the scoreboard with 12 kills, 20 digs, and two aces. Grace Schulte had 23 assists and six kills. Libero Aubrey Flynn patrolled the back row, registering 24 digs.

8AAA Semifinal

(1) ROCORI 3, (4) Becker 0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-17): Kate Holthaus (20 kills) and Ava Stalboerger (15 kills) were a dynamic one-two punch for the Spartans. The Bulldog attack was led by Lily Dewall and Keira Berger.

ROCORI plays Detroit Lakes at Alexandria on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. You’ll hear the match on the KNSI Sports Network.

6AA Quarterfinals

(1) Albany 3, (9) Holdingford 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-18): Hannah Klein led the Huskies with 17 kills. Brynn Panek, Olivia Lemm, and Kelsey Lobitz all added at least four kills.

(3) Sauk Centre 3, (6) Cathedral 0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-21): Ellie Voth kept the Crusaders in this one with 17 kills in only three sets.

Albany squares off against Melrose in the first match of a doubleheader at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. Sauk Centre meets Pequot Lakes in the nightcap.
