(KNSI) — A 46-year-old Becker man is facing charges after he was found to allegedly be illegally in possession of numerous guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
According to a press release, on Sunday, someone tipped off the Becker Police Department, saying the man had a gun and was not allowed to. Investigators confirmed his status as a convicted felon and found him in his car at about 6:30 that night. Police stopped him and found an extended loaded magazine for a handgun. A search warrant was carried out for the vehicle he was driving and a different vehicle he was driving earlier, which turned up a Glock 10mm handgun, additional magazines, and more ammunition plus two baggies of a powdery white substance weighing approximately 74 grams, which police say field tested positive for cocaine.
Police also executed a search warrant at the man’s home on Monday, where they allegedly found a Glock .9mm handgun along with hundreds of rounds of various ammunition.
He was taken to the Sherburne County Jail pending charges of felon in possession of a firearm and first degree drug possession.
Court records show the man had previously been arrested for aggravated assault and burglary charges.
KNSI does not typically name suspects until they’ve been formally charged.
