(KNSI) – Nurses at CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital are being recognized as some of the best in their profession.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program has given the facility its highest designation for the fifth time. This credential is the top national honor for a professional nursing practice. It only goes to healthcare organizations that meet rigorous standards for nursing excellence.

There are only three other Minnesota hospitals with magnet designations. They are Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Children’s Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

St. Cloud Hospital is among only 43 medical providers getting a fifth redesignation. That’s equal to less than one percent of the more than 6,000 hospitals in the United States. Only 604 hospitals worldwide have earned the distinction.
