(KNSI) – Fresh Skin Tattoo in St. Cloud held its second annual Tattoo for a Cause event to support a shelter for teenagers and young adults.
Eight artists inked around 230 people on Saturday at Back Shed Brewing in Waite Park, with about 40 more scheduled to be throughout the next two weeks. People get to choose between 70 different designs. Fresh Skin Owner Shawn Neu mentioned to KNSI News the most common selections. “The cancer one is always very popular. There are diabetes designs, a lot of people got those. Personal growth and mental health might be the most popular of all, because I think no matter what battle everybody’s going through, it all relates to mental health.”
Neu says he’s already planning and looking forward to next year. “The energy that I get from everybody else, and the excitement that I get from everybody else is almost like it’s my job to keep doing this every year because everyone loves it. And I love to see the smiles on everybody’s faces.”
He says to keep an eye on Fresh Skin’s social media accounts for updates on next year’s event.
They’re still adding up the total, but all proceeds will go to Pathways 4 Youth. The shelter helps people between 16 and 24 who are at risk of being homeless. The facility offers counseling, clothing, housing and other resources.
